I'm thinking about running a My Little Pony RPG via Google Hangouts. I've not planned out all the details, but I'll be making the tokens and such myself so you can look forward to a complete vector of your character should you choose to join in.
I'm planning to do quite a bit of homebrew, but if anyone has any preferred themes or systems they'd like to play -of if they'd just like to play!- feel free to post!

I'm in. I like RPGs, and I'd love to join in.
Just a question: Do I have to be my character or can I choose someone else. For example, I'm Trotsky, but I want to be, I dunno, Caramel. Am I able to do that?

I think this'd be fun. Why not?

I was thinking we'd do something separate from this, so everyone would be making up an OC as part of character creation.

Okay then. So how are we going to do this?

I've actually come up with a few ideas- mechanically that is- for how I'd like to do it. I do have a question for you folks though, what sort of theme are we thinking? I'm thinking of having the average session go something like on of the show's more 'intense' episodes, so there's always something interesting going on. I don't know quite what to do in terms of violence though. I feel like going with too much would be a dramatic break from the show, but most game mechanics are fighting based. I'd love opinions on this.

I think maybe something with more action to it. I mean, my OC Retro Sax is a former Equestrian Marine Corps sniper, so...you know.

I would love to see the polar opposite - a Myst or Zork style of RPG, where the focus is more on exploration than combat. Puzzles to solve, and characters to interact with, plus the occasional troll or monster to fight.
You are standing in a field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small pony here.
Please be someone on this board who gets the reference.

I've gone through many a session of Vampire: The Masquerade Revised without any combat taking place. Lots of non-combat skills to work with in World of Darkness setting. Can I play my Malkavian in this RPG? ^_-

I very much agree with you guys that non-combat sessions are generally far superior to combat heavy ones, especially with out source materiel here. Furthermore, the MLP cast often finds clever ways around combat instead of getting their hooves dirty, so there's always that as well. I do like the exploration idea (and do get the reference), my only qualm being that exploration is inherently a lot of work, but that's really more of a case of me being a lazy butt.
But more importantly, no bloody way can you play a Malkavian. Hahaha.
